A new report has been released by the Nielsen Company stating that 2009 saw a massive increase in the importance of Social Networking. Social Networks now share the most popular category online along with blogs. Unsurprisingly, Facebook is leading the fray in the world of Social Networking with Twitter making the most significant strides in terms of growth of category.

If anything, I'm surprised that this increase isn't larger. The majority of my friends, colleagues and even family members are all regular social networkers. Twitter is a constant source of information and entertainment. People's lives are being organised through the medium of social networks and consumers reliance upon them is ever increasing. As marketeers we need to find new ways of harnessing this without risking over exposure to brand messaging for the user.

Mobile Internet Usage Not Mainstream
There is a surprising article in the latest version of NMA which states that 76% of people are not accessing the internet via their mobile phones. Lack of free trial periods, a poor retail experience and difficulties of use for the lack of mainstream adoption are to blame apparently. This comes as a surprise to those of us used to accessing a wealth of information from the convenience of our mobiles.. so what more should we be doing to communicate the power of this to our audiences?

Storming in at the number 1 spot, Tim Henman appeals to a younger, urban audience for Slazenger. This piece of work also had the added advantage of shifting loads of tennis balls in inner city stores. More importantly, we hear it's Tim's Mum's favourite!
In at number 2 is our unique "Wake Me Up Before You Go" proposition. The headlines we made on behalf of Great Eastern generated a million pounds worth of positive PR.
An unusual entry at number 3, our client Eurobond make industrial cladding - in all honesty its a bit dull. But its fireproof and used in schools - now there's a hook!
At number 4, proof that being a start up doesn't mean you can't develop a cool brand, with great creative. Don't forget wherever you are if you need a cab just beep!
Bringing up the rear at number 5 is Cornwall Tourism. Our "Chill and Thrill" campaign neatly combined two propositions in one single minded piece of communication.
To find out more about these exciting campaigns or to talk to us about your marketing needs call Ian or Gus on 01628 819007 or visit us online.

Farewell Shooey..
A revered hush fell over us today as we waved goodbye to our office mate David Schoolheifer.. After years of imparting his wisdom to the team and eating a selection of the finest processed meats known to man..David is moving on.. We waved him a sad farewell (and then immediately rearranged the office..!) Fear not though, there is time for longer, more emotionally fulfilling goodbyes next wednesday when he returns to the office for lunch with the team.
